Description Purpose
Provides specialized professional services and support to the following West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) cores: Clinical Research Design, Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CRDEB), Clinical Research Resources and Facilities and Technologies and Resources for Core Laboratories (TRCL). This position reports to the Clinical Services Integration Manager and assists in the implementation of various processes and projects. Assists in the organization and coordination of projects, including planning, organizing, prioritizing service requests and community outreach and training/technical assistance activities, and developing administrative policies and procedures with respect to the WVCTSI and its mission. Responsible to track projects progress. Requires cross-core collaboration to maximize effectiveness and eliminate redundancies.

Provides program, as well as direct internal and external client support services. Responsible for the coordination of everyday activities and priority assignment to future projects. Responds to inquiries and independently resolves matters of low to moderate complexity. Responsibilities require some judgment, resourcefulness, and originality, but diverse guides and precedents are usually available to apply or adapt to the circumstances. Work effort has considerable impact on client services, program and project image, with potential legal liabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities are functional in nature, and performed under general supervision. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
1) Maintains program schedules and calendars.
2) Assists with evaluation activities such as tracking and reporting for quarterly reports.
3) Facilitates services provided to researchers in a broad array of areas including, clinical trials, biostatistics, data analysis.
4) Assists in the creation and dissemination of materials pertaining to the services provided by the WVCTSI.
5) Assists senior CTSI staff with trainings and workshops. May disseminate materials, set up training rooms, assist with scheduling, etc.
6) Provides assistance to management with functions such as planning, organizing coordinating, scheduling and implementing project activities to meet objectives.
7) Actively participates in writing of reports, journal articles or other documentation of project/project program status and project results.
8) Creates status reports on plans, progress and results of project activity
9) Makes presentations as needed.
10) Generates reports on project/ program plans, progress and results of activity.
11) Arranges and attends meetings, seminars, symposia and other events related to the core activities.
12) Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts, related to CTSI services.
13) Assists in developing and updating core/program policies and procedures.
14) Assists the implementation of a variety of cross-core collaborations.

Supervisory/Lead Role
This position reports to the WVCTSI Clinical Services Integration Manager. Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Supervision of others is not required; however, sharing of knowledge with others and team participation is expected in the role. Program, project or activity lead responsibilities will occur or be assigned in this position.

Physical Demands
Activities are predominantly non-manual though some responsibilities require the occasional lifting of 25lbs. The incumbent must be able to effectively hear and communicate with others. Close visual acuity, the ability to adjust focus, identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision, and depth perception are required in the job.

Work Environment
This position includes a mixture of a normal office environment and a training development environment, and traveling to various locations for meetings, conferences and/or training. It also includes the ability to maintain and keep confidential information. Incumbent is responsible to know and comply with all safety procedures.

Requirements Requisite Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
1) Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business, Statistics, Biomedical Sciences or related field
And
2) 2 – 4 years’ experience with program development/coordination
Or
3) An equivalent combination of education and experience
