Description This position provides support for data-driven research projects for the Injury Control Research Center.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities are functional in nature, and performed under supervision. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
1) Develop processes for standardizing data from various sources, including medical records, surveys, and administrative records.
2) Conduct statistical analyses with direction from lead investigators.
3) Summarize results from statistical analyses in tables and graphs
4) Contribute to the development of technical reports and manuscripts.
5) Provide needed support to the Center Director, in-house faculty/investigators, and affiliate personnel.

Supervisory/Lead Role
This position reports to the Director, ICRC.

Physical Demands
Activities require manual skill to provide and/or alter services and/or products. Manual dexterity used in operating office equipment. Prolonged periods of sitting, and the ability to walk short distances is required. Use of elevators and/or stairs is routine.
Work Environment
Works in standard office atmosphere with shared space and equipment. Must provide a flexible schedule, as needed to ensure that job description can be fully executed (including weekends as needed). Responsible to know and comply with all safety procedures.
Requirements Requisite Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
1) Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, public health or related field
and
2) Experience in data analysis
or
3) An equivalent combination of education and experience

4) Skilled at identifying and verifying appropriate source documentation for data reporting.
5) Possesses a thorough understanding of each assigned project’s critical time sensitive data points and benchmarks.
6) Ability to coordinate data management with the research team to facilitate efficient and accurate data reporting and regulatory documentation.
7) Knowledge of statistics and their application.
8) Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
9) Maintains skills in, or knowledge of statistical software including SAS, R and STATA. Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
10) Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
11) Ability to effectively communicate.
12) Ability to calculate common statistical procedures including measures of distribution, and association.
13) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
14) Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
15) Ability to work independently and make recommendations in support of project goals.

1) A master’s degree is preferred.
