High school diploma or GED AND experience working with the public in a customer service environment. Must be 18 years old or older; bus driving experience is preferred.
Applicants will be required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment.
Possession of a valid United States Driver’s License is required.
A Driving record search will be conducted on all applicants prior to employment and will be subject observation throughout their employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of: Town and state traffic regulations and safety procedures; municipal bus program standards and rules; geographic features and roads within the service area; Federal, state and regional public transit regulations and safety
standards; radio and telephone communications protocols; Town policies and procedures.
Skill in: Operating transit vehicles in a safe manner, in compliance with all traffic laws, Town policy and procedures, and state and local regulations; reading maps and schedule information; reacting quickly to situations that could create
safety and customer security problems; using courtesy and respect in providing customer service to guests; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with employees and the general public.
Work is performed while operating transportation vehicles in variable weather conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time; may lift/move up to 40 lbs.
