Description • Season and cook food according to recipes and experience.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ensure tickets are quickly and accurately finished.
• Set-up and break down work stations.
• Properly label and store foods.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
• Assist with ordering supplies and counting inventory if needed.
• Receive deliveries; verify vendor invoices with delivery specs and product for quality
• Complete shift reports such as “Line checklist”, “Temp Logs” and “Waste Logs”.
• Perform work duties in accordance with company safety and security policies and procedures as well as OSHA and food handler regulations.

Requirements • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a restaurant setting
• Valid food handler’s card if required
