SUMMARY:

 

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for utilizing specialized knowledge of principles of engineering and (preferably) considerable radio control experience to design, build, test, and analyze RC products. Must be knowledgeable in design of electrical circuits and embedded software; responsible for timely and practical results based on the previously determined technical direction.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Works with the air category team to provide ideas, engineering perspective and input into 18-24 month product plans.

·         Uses an understanding of the RC hobby, along with knowledge of latest technology, tools, and trends available in the electronics field to engineer innovative electronics products for the hobby market.

·         Proof-of-concept and prototype development.

a. Includes sourcing of all components and assembly of initial prototypes for design verification.

b. Ensures functionality meets initial scope of project.

c. Works with test and development staff to ensure thorough field testing and verification of design.

·         Works with the development team, domestic, and overseas vendors to ensure a smooth transition to production

a. Provides accurate documentation including necessary BOM’s, design files, hex codes, and programming tools.

b. Works with vendors to ensure long lead components are planned for.

c. Provides test hardware and procedures to development and operations to ensure high quality and efficient manufacturing.

d. Puts a priority on production transition support.

·         Drive projects by assuming accountability for project content and timely completion.

·         Communicate effectively with our overseas vendors in a project environment.

·         Responsible for estimating and reporting project R&D costs and timeline.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

·         Bachelor of Science or higher in related Engineering field (software, electrical, computer, etc.).

·     Two years of aircraft flight controls experience.

·         Two to five years of applicable product engineering experience.

·         Knowledge of RC hobby products is a plus.

·         Proficient in C programming.

·         Experience in development of embedded microcontroller systems.

·         Computer skills in AutoCad, Catalyst, PADS PCB, and MS Office tools (particularly Excel).
