Job Summary:

 

The Director of eCommerce is responsible for driving long-term profitable growth and increasing levels of customer satisfaction through online channels.  This position is responsible for optimizing the company’s direct to consumer initiatives in terms of revenue, conversion rates, social networking reach, ROI, usability, and functionality.  Key focus is placed on deepening our direct interaction and relationships with consumers.

 

The Director of eCommerce will provide balanced and focused leadership for all department associates, maintain a positive work environment, build an organization that fosters teamwork and communication, and develop a culture centered environment that is closely aligned with achieving our strategic goals.  The individual must become proficient and support Horizon’s corporate core competencies (Integrity, Protecting the Assets of the Company, being Customer Focused, being Results Oriented, and advocating our corporate culture).

 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

           Champion development of eCommerce capabilities and marketing programs which will drive business growth and stimulate consumer engagement.

           Lead strategic planning and business case development to guide eCommerce technology investment decision making, support implementation and analyze post-live business impact of enhancements.

           Manage online campaigns across different channels to ensure program specific ROI goals are met.

           Work with technical team to ensure that website technology, structure, organization, design and functionality are customer driven, user-centric and metrics-based. Plays an integral role in Web Site design and functionality.

           Track and share eCommerce and retail trends as well as competitive landscape information. Leverage this data to drive recommendations.

           Analyze and develop new online marketing relationships such as comparison shopping engines, affiliate programs, link building, and sponsorship opportunities.

           Guides publication, email, and merchandizing teams to create effective consumer communication campaigns to increase open rates, conversions, new customer acquisition and retention.

           Project management of any new products or enhancements to online environment (i.e. loyalty programs, affiliate programs, search engine marketing and optimization).

           Leads customer insight generation through the consumer channel (surveys, etc.).

           Measures customer satisfaction through online satisfaction surveys, focus groups, etc. and make recommendations for modifications based on that customer feedback.

           Experiments with natural and paid search methodologies; test and recommend optimal search engine optimization strategies for all web properties.

           Manages vendor relationships.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         10 years of business experience, including responsibility for an annual operating budget in excess of $20M.

·         Minimum of 3 years Director-level experience focused on ecommerce, marketing, or multi-channel retail.  Experience with cutting edge ecommerce platforms and measurement software is preferred.

·         Possess highly developed leadership and management skills. 

·         Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, general business administration, sound judgment and assessment skills.

·         Computer literacy is essential in MS Office, business intelligence tools, and mainframe applications.

·         Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field.
