Description JR Motorsports, a sister company to Hendrick Motorsports, is currently seeking a highly motivated Public Relations Account Manager. This position serves in the communications department as a public relations practitioner for team, driver, and/or divisions within the organization. This role includes but is not limited to implementing PR strategies, cultivating relationships with media and the public, creating ideas and opportunities for maximum ROI, and extensive writing. The role includes weekly travel to NASCAR events across the country.

The ideal candidate should be able to do the following:

• Write and edit press materials, including weekly race previews, race reports, press releases, web articles, etc.
• Serve as the primary press agent for respective team/driver, which includes pitching to media and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Manage considerable aspects of the social communications function for respective team/driver.
• Exude positivity with the customers (the fan base), and seek opportunities to give fans more reasons to support JR Motorsports teams, drivers and sponsors.
• Foster positive working relationships with members of the media and industry stakeholders.
• Coordinate media events – whether it be at-track or elsewhere – and handle logistical support when necessary.
• Monitor media coverage for team/driver.
• Greet, host and work with VIP guests of the team and sponsors to ensure memorable experiences with the race program.
• Accompany driver or key members of the team to appearances or events when applicable.
• Promote, position and drive value to sponsor, driver and team through earned media, social and digital media, and other appropriate outlets.
• Lend assistance in other facets of the company that are important to the functionality of JR Motorsports (i.e. Dirty Mo Media, Whiskey River, The Dale Jr. Foundation, etc.)

Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) required.
Experience: At least two years.
Computer skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of digital media platforms required.
Other requirements: Dependability, punctuality and organizational skills. Strong writing skills. Solid understanding of public relations and media relations practices. Strong communications skills and the ability to work proactively with others as well as independently. Proficient in AP Style and editing. Desire and ability to travel extensively (75%), and work weekends in accordance with the NASCAR race schedule. Outgoing and personable. Must be able to meet goals and work in a highly-competitive, fast-paced environment, remotely, accurately and on deadline. Effectively communicate at all levels. Must possess strong analytical and research skills. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
