The BI Developer is an essential part of the Business Intelligence team at FirstCare. The BI Developer helps to create data sets, reports, and dashboards that support business needs for information, and helps to drive insights and enable data-driven decision making.


• Responsible for pulling complex data sets from disparate data sources to provide information to business stakeholders.

• Analyze data to observe trends and draw conclusions, enabling data-driven decision making.

• Design, develop, test and implement business reports and dashboards of moderate complexity to support business needs as well as regulatory reporting requirements.

• Gather and evaluate reporting requirements to support those reporting needs.

• Provide support for existing data pulls, reports and dashboards.

• Collaborate with data architecture team to fulfill needs for bringing in new data sources.

• Work with users to ensure data quality and integrity, and to identify gaps in data quality.

• Ability to work with users to refine requirements, develop specifications, coding, unit testing, user acceptance testing, documentation, and implementation.

• Share knowledge to provide value across multiple groups.

• Effectively communicate with team members and management.

• Follow FirstCare’s policies and procedures regarding Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), SAS70 Compliance and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).



• BA/BS degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related major required.

• Experience in healthcare industry with understanding of data terminology preferred.

• 5+ years of analytical reporting deployment, design, development and architecture experience using I SSRS, WebFocus, AppStudio, InfoDiscovery, or other major Business Intelligence tool.

• 5+ years demonstrated experience writing SQL queries.

• Knowledge of data quality management best practices required.

• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Tools.

• Strong skills in performing data validation and verification.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team environment by collaborating with others and sharing tools, skills, and knowledge.

• Solid problem-solving and analysis skills that demonstrate resourcefulness and attention to detail.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
