Under general supervision works directly with clients, projects and business leaders to identify analytical requirements. Delivers support to end users on the use of the StepWise rating platform efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives.


Data Analysis

• Responsible for collecting, organizing, interpreting and analyzing healthcare data from a wide range of existing data sources for key stakeholders.

• Gathers and evaluates reporting requirements to support business reporting needs.

• Ability to work with users to refine requirements, develop specifications, coding, unit testing, user acceptance testing, documentation, and implementation.

• Ability to effectively communicate results to all levels of the enterprise.

• Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise.

• Participates as an active member of the Data Governance Council.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet non-negotiable deadlines.

• Ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them.

• Meets periodically with business owners to discuss metrics and analysis.

• Follow FirstCare’s policies and procedures regarding Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

StepWise Application Support

• Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems.

• Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.

• Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.

• Perform hands-on fixes, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.

• Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.

• Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.

• Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

• Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization.

• Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes.

• Post software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.

• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.



• BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or related major preferred.

• 2+ year experience in healthcare industry with understanding of data terminology

• 4+ years of analytical reporting deployment, design, development and architecture experience

• 4+ years of query writing to include stored procedures, functions, and views.

• 4+ years of experience with SQL Server 2008 R2

• Familiarity with industry reporting tools, Information Builders, Tableau, Microstrategy, etc. preferred

• Knowledge of data quality management best practices preferred

• Knowledge of dimensional data warehouse design

• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Tools.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical personnel both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to take initiative, work flexibly, and adhere to priorities with minimal direct supervision.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team environment by collaborating with others and sharing tools, skills, and knowledge.

• Solid problem-solving and analysis skills that demonstrate resourcefulness and attention to detail.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Strong organizational and time management skills
