FARO is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer for our Research & Development team in the Lake Mary, FL area. SCOPE: The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for leading and developing designs containing analog, digital, and power circuits. The engineer will need to develop system and block level diagrams, create schematics and aid in the layout of PCBs. The engineer must integrate, debug, and validate the final design in the lab and in system.

Requirements

HIRING PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of analog, digital, and power circuit design
  • Experience with PCB design tools including OrCad and Allegro
  • Required Knowledge of various analog circuits and concepts, including:
    • Analog to digital converters
    • Op-amps, compensating op-amps and analog filters
    • Capacitor dielectrics and effects on accuracy
    • Power regulators and power supply design
  • Preferred Digital Design techniques which include:
    • Interfacing and programming of DSPs
    • Processor communications and peripheral interfaces
    • FPGA and DDR interfaces and design
    • Digital Filters
    • Low power design
    • Interfacing with optical and imaging sensors
  • Experience with Design For Test and Design For Manufacturing techniques preferred
  • Experience with Mathematical tools such as MathCad and MatLab preferred
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and optical systems and lab equipment required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some lightweight lifting and occasional lifting of average to heavy weight materials of over 60 lbs. 
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing and upper body and arm rotation. Some bending, stooping and standing. Continuous sitting. 
  • Occasional use of hazardous chemicals
