General Summary:                                                                                                     

Serves as the primary liaison between Ritter Communications wholesale carrier customers for all sales opportunities.

Travels within the United States to current and prospective customer sites; presents communication service opportunities, provides proposals for products and services, and originates new business orders. Manages and serves as back up for Carrier Account Representative who is responsible for billing, customer service and being the liaison between the customer and internal team members in an effort to address customer retention and service issues.

Responsible for profitable sales of company products and services to current and potential customers within the defined service area. Provides cross functional leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Calls on prospective customers via phone and in person. Provides technical information, IT solutions design, and demonstrates company products and services. Develops long-term relationships and becomes the trusted advisor to the customer. Leads team in generating leads, creating sales and proposing complete solutions for prospects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for sales quota on wholesale sales for Ritter Communications; includes generating leads, creating sales presentations and proposals, closing the sale and ensuring delivery of services alongside project management.
  • Adheres to profitability and return criteria requirements.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Carrier Account Representative.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with top-tier business executives and community leaders.  Represents Ritter Communications in various community committees and functions.
  • Participates in weekly status meetings with all members of the delivery and project teams to build more effective communications.
  • Responsible for the care and support of customers. Ensure customers are receiving excellent support and service by providing accurate and timely information.
  • Prepares a variety of reports outlining sales leads, pipeline, and all closed business sales.
  • Analyzes and measures business trends; develops and implements plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.  Focuses on providing viable solutions to all customers.
  • Forecasts month, quarter, and year sales originations and reviews flowing revenue compared to budget.  Provides explanations for any variance.
  • Works with Director, Product Development and Carrier Relations and team on service designs/costs, pricing, investment models, and bid packages.
  • Works with marketing team on market research and advertising activities to identify targeted customers; identifies the appropriate media for distribution of promotional information.
  • Responsible for creating and presenting quotes for all service solutions to current and potential customers.
  • Prepares all contracts and agreements for business customers and clients.
  • Prepares a variety of reports outlining sales leads and prospects and all closed business sales.
  • Drives sale of all products and services.
  • Consults with customer to assess needs and use consultative-style selling skills to present the solution
  • Completely understands, represents, and competitively positions products and services.
  • Responsible for evaluating customer network configuration for reliability, scalability and security.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by VP, Enterprise/Wholesale/Cloud

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:    

  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of telecom operations, technology, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of telecom business sales principles, sales practices, and account management, with a proven track record of exceeding quota.
  • Knowledge of company products, services, and organizational structure.
  • Knowledge of network optimization and solution sales.
  • Knowledge of ASR, LSR, circuits, provisioning, and porting.
  • Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs, and telephone systems.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in public speaking, sales proposal development, and presentation delivery.
  • Skill in spreadsheet creation and proficiency in word processing programs.
  • Skill in time management, problem solving, prioritization, planning and the ability to think analytically.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in team management, organizational leadership, and self-direction.
  • Ability to demonstrate communication skills in persuasion, selling, negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record required.

Education and Experience:   

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Business, or Marketing or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of experience in sales and/or telecom design and installation. Experience in Telecom / Networking in a business environment preferred. Technical certifications a plus.

2 plus years’ experience managing projects and working within a cross departmental team environment; 5 plus years’ experience in working with the sale of high complexity and high volumes related to Carrier, Wholesale, or National Customer Accounts.  Experience in a sales CRM application.
