We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Administrator to join our team.

General Summary:

The NOC Administrator serves as a primary escalation point for NOC Technicians and NOC Specialists and is actively involved in the resolution and/or coordination of resources and personnel for all network events and outages. Takes part in the maintenance and management of the network infrastructure at Ritter Communications and plays a key role in designing and implementing network surveillance and management platforms. This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating documentation related to changes made to the network.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manages and maintains network systems including server applications, routers, switches, firewalls, storage devices, and other network equipment.

• Provides deep network analysis concerning usage trends, recurring events, as well as outage and incident patterns.

• Provides escalation for network-level troubleshooting activities as well as customer-level troubleshooting activities.

• Designs, implements and manages policy and procedure concerning network surveillance system interaction.

• Administration and management of network surveillance platforms.

• Performs operational acceptance of new network elements.

• Participates in a team environment, providing valuable input as well as serving as a leader to the team.

• Escalation support of voice network infrastructure, both TDM and IP.

• Interaction with upstream service providers such as internet and long-distance.

• Engages Network Engineers with requested service and network design changes.

• IP Address Management and Allocation.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for enterprise customers.

• Strong customer service focus.

• Participates in a 24x7x364 (3) shift rotation.

• Participates in a rotating weekly on-call schedule.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS of ISIS.

• Ability to follow and create NOC policies and procedures.

• Ability to troubleshoot effectively through OSI Layers 1 through 4.

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

• Ability to function in a team environment.

• Experience in team leadership.

• Experience working in a Network Operations center.

• Previous network administration experience.

• Experience troubleshooting Voice over IP infrastructure.

• Experience with CCNP, CCNA Service Provider or CCNA Service Provider Operations.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.

• 3 years of professional experience providing a network technical support, of which 1 year should be as a network administrator’s level.

• CCNA, Security+ & Network+
