We are looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer, Hosted Services to join our team.

General Summary:  

The Solutions Engineer, Hosted Services is responsible for pre-sales support for services in the Ritter Hosted Solutions (RHS) cloud hosting environment. Serving as a subject matter expert on RHS products and services the Solutions Engineer will stay abreast of industry trends and technologies. This position includes direct customer involvement in understanding the opportunity, gathering commercial and technical requirements, quoting validation and interfacing with Sales and Product Development teams for current service capabilities. This role is focused on designing customer solutions in cooperation with both customers and other internal teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with clients, partners, vendors and colleagues.
  • Serve as an advisor in customer presentations and negotiations with sales teams and partners.
  • Ensure consistency of solutions, value proposition, and pre-sales support methodology.
  • Assist sales team on RFP responses.
  • Assist sales team on technical aspects of proposal writing and development.
  • Ensure smooth transfer of solution design details and knowledge from solutions engineering team to provisioning teams.
  • Ensure solutions comply with operational processes and policies related to solution design and implementation.
  • Lead with a customer service-oriented approach for all team members.
  • Serve as the enterprise security subject matter expert who can explain technical topics to internal audiences and external clients without a technical background.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server technologies
  • Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware
  • Working knowledge of security solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to deliver whiteboard presentations
  • Ability to exercise tact and good interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate technical documentation

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Two to three years information technology based pre-sales experience
  • Five to six years information technology implementation experience
