Enviva combines earth’s oldest renewable energy source with 21st Century technology to make wood pellets — a sustainable, cost-efficient and essential complement to wind and solar power. According to experts, generating electricity with wood pellets instead of coal reduces greenhouse gas emissions by about 80 percent. We manufacture pellets at six facilities in the American South and supply them to electric utilities in the United Kingdom and Europe.

 

Enviva is bringing badly needed economic growth to rural communities across the South, creating hundreds of new jobs and pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the Southern economy. We produce wood pellets with sustainable practices that protect Southern forests. And wood pellets reliably produce electricity at power plants across Europe, regardless of whether the wind is blowing or the sun is shining.

Description

Enviva is seeking an Operator to fulfill the following duties:

  • Perform and document required inspections of equipment and maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Analyze equipment performance and make necessary tooling and equipment changes to produce desired throughput and quality results.
  • Follow all workplace and job safety procedures.
  • Perform and document required inspections of equipment and maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Develop and maintain operational records from inspections.
  • Confirm all reporting accurately completed as required.
  • Communicate operational information as required.
  • Enter maintenance work requests as applicable.
  • Perform/coordinate maintenance on equipment per job instructions.
  • Perform/coordinate housekeeping to maintain to required standard.
  • Escalate issues promptly for proper resolution.
  • Perform other duties as required and serve as a back-up resource as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Develop and maintain accurate written records
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurement
  • Strong leadership abilities as demonstrated with past work experience or activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to continuously stand or walk
  • Ability to use arm and wrist movement continuously.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift items above shoulders occasionally.
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up items up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

 Work Environment

  • Occasionally work in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis during each shift.
  • Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
