According to experts, generating electricity with wood pellets instead of coal reduces greenhouse gas emissions by about 80 percent. And wood pellets can provide uninterrupted power at any time, at large scale and at comparatively low cost.

Enviva was founded in 2004 with a clear purpose in mind: We wanted to develop a cleaner energy alternative to fossil fuels. Today, we are the world’s largest wood pellet producer, with the capacity to make more than 2 million tons in 2016. We manufacture pellets at six facilities in the American South and supply them to electric utilities in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Enviva is bringing badly needed economic growth to rural communities across the South, creating hundreds of new jobs and pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the Southern economy. We produce wood pellets with sustainable practices that protect Southern forests. And wood pellets reliably produce electricity at power plants across Europe, regardless of whether the wind is blowing or the sun is shining.

Enviva is seeking a dynamic and motivated Executive Assistant to support our VP Controller and VP Treasurer for the Finance and Accounting teams.


  • Act as a gatekeeper; consistently demonstrate solid understanding of priorities and proactively manage calendar across multiple time-zones.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively bring together resources to support and address issues in all executive offices
  • Manage incoming correspondence and prioritize competing requests; filter through requests independently and follow through on behalf of executives, as needed.
  • Assist with creation of presentations and content development.
  • Coordinate highly detailed and complex travel itineraries.
  • Effectively manage relationships in a cordial and professional manner and consistently look for new ideas to further develop working relationships.
  • Understand organizational policies and procedures necessary to ensure appropriate decision-making protocols are followed.
  • Complete ad hoc administrative requests in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Partner with Executive Assistant to CEO to provide seamless coverage to all executives.
  • Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience, with at least 1 year of experience serving a senior or executive professional.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team, and assume additional responsibilities as required
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and well organized
  • Ability to interact professionally with Board members and investors
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to reach decisions independently; focused on understanding the bigger picture – i.e., results oriented, rather than task oriented.
  • Ability to develop solid, trusted relationships.
  • Maintain focus with sense of urgency, while upholding respect for others
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a positive customer service attitude
  • Adapt well to changing plans and priorities; deal comfortably with ambiguity
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook calendaring, Outlook email, etc.)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business dictates.
