Description: The Facilities Technician will perform a variety of repairs, preventative maintenance and manual labor for the Building Operations Department on a portfolio of office buildings and office space.
• Receives, completes and closes internal work orders submitted by building employees and operations staff.
• Responsible for completing maintenance projects, and operational assignments with minimal supervision.
• Performs and maintains records of building inspections, preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned.
• Plans assigned work, selecting and obtaining needed equipment and materials.
• Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, kitchen appliances and other equipment typically found in a modern office building as directed.
• Respond to all MEP trouble calls and troubleshoot the systems to meet the operational and comfort needs of the building occupants.
• Performs minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting as needed.
• Repair doors, locks, ceilings, hand railings, and floors.
• Installs wall hangings such as marker boards, signs and other wall fastened items as directed.
• Makes minor repairs to furniture such as office chairs and work stations.
• Assists other facilities maintenance staff as needed.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements Requirements
• 1-3 years of related experience in facilities, construction or commercial trades.
• General knowledge of buildings, safety, and operation of power tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, able to accomplish tasks with minimum supervision and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Demonstrates a commitment to safety.
• Ability to perform difficult manual labor and lifting.
• Available to work occasional off hour shifts when requested, to meet project needs.
• Willing to be on-call for emergencies and after-hour response during set periods of time. Over-time pay will be hourly at time and a half.
• Friendly, personable and professional disposition.
• Ability to successfully multitask and an aptitude for problem solving a plus.
• Maintains a clean professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
• Must comply with all company conduct, safety, and security policies.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Initial work hours 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
EDUCATION
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a technical or trade school, OSHA training, related education or training in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and building controls a plus.
