Description The Learning Management System Coordinator provides technical support of the Daymar College learning management system. This position is responsible for the support, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of resources used for instructional functions. The Learning Management System Coordinator is the secondary administrator for Daymar College’s learning management system and integrated tools and will provide support for the installation of all system updates, upgrades, integrated tools, and other software integrated with the LMS.

Major Responsibility Areas (MRAs)

• Management of users and courses in the LMS including but not limited to course creation, user creation and related processes)
• Supports enhancements to the look and feel of the LMS in coordination with the LMS provider.
• Works with LMS provider to mitigate system outages, as well as, monitors LMS performance
• Works with LMS provider to timely response to problems and emergency situations affecting normal operations
• Works closely with appropriate external vendors to ensure efficient functionality of resources
• Works with LMS provider to address learning management system issues and tickets, escalating issues to the appropriate groups as needed.
• Works with LMS provider on local technical support and troubleshooting learning management systems’ needs
• Works with supervisor to write and maintain technical procedures and policy documentation related to the use of LMS resources.

Requirements The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree preferred.

2. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of LMS administrative experience preferred. Experience with Canvas preferred. Experience with HTML, Java, and CSS preferred. Experience with web design preferred.


Physical and Mental Requirements:

Physical Requirements: This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.

Mental Requirements: This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information. This job also requires the ability to work under moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Environment: This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and cooled office area/classroom.
