Description Position Summary: The UX Design Professor teaches in the UX Design Master’s degree program. The program is delivered in an Executive Weekend format (Friday evenings and Saturdays). The UX Design Professor must have the ability to develop innovative and appropriate course content and teach in both a face-to-face and a hybrid environment.

Major Responsibility Areas:

MRA #1. Classroom Instruction. Initiates, facilitates, and moderates student-centered instruction for graduate level courses. Prepares appropriate course materials to ensure achievement of learning objectives. Provides support and guidance to students. Evaluates student achievement using rubrics and other student-centered approaches.

MRA #2. Student Relations. Advise and mentor students on academic and career issues. Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other records in accordance with policies and procedures of the School.

MRA #3. Institutional and External Involvement. Actively participates in the school’s activities and meetings. Actively participates in relevant community and professional activities and organizations that enhance and promote the best interests of the program and the school. Attends conferences and makes presentations at conferences and professional organizations and maintains memberships in appropriate professional organizations.
Requirements Job Requirements: The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully:

1. Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, User Experience or related discipline is required; doctorate degree is preferred.

2. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of design industry work experience (UX design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, interactive design, or related discipline) required. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is highly desired.

3. Competencies: Incumbent must (be) able to:

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Speak effectively to both large and small groups of people

• Use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to prepare and maintain records, correspondence, reports and other data
• Relate to and work with all levels of the organization
• Have knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy
• Able to initiate, administer, assess, and document clinical education programs
• Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers
• Able to travel, as needed

4. Physical and Mental Requirements:

Physical Requirements: This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 50 pounds, is also required.

Mental Requirements: This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information. This job also requires the ability to work under moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Environment: This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and cooled office area/classroom.
