Description Studio School is currently hiring for the position of Piano Accompanist. This position is a staff position defined as a qualified pianist who accompanies performance classes, projects or events on an as-needed basis.

Accompanists are expected to play a wide variety of sheet music, as well as accurately play isolated melodies and accompaniment for students to record.

If contracted for a course, they are expected to attend all scheduled meeting times. They may also be prompted by faculty and students for insights, information or advice regarding music or the music industry and are welcome to provide such feedback in accordance with the employee handbook and the course/project/event director’s guidelines.
Requirements The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and/or competencies and abilities needed to perform this job successfully:

Qualified candidates must be able to sight-read, perform and transpose (at least chords) any style of music at a professional level.

It’s advantageous for them to also be well-versed in musical theatre repertoire and have experience in an educational environment.
