Description Position Summary: Provides Career Services and Community Relations leadership and oversight to all Career Services Directors at all campuses. This position provides leadership, vision, administrative support all career-employment related services to enhance the marketable employment skills of Daymar College graduating students.

MRA #1. Student Placement. Promotes and maintains a warm, friendly nurturing atmosphere conducive to placing students in careers upon graduation.


• Works with Career Services staff in planning, designing, and implementing of internship placements for each major program of study.
• Trains Career Services staff to conduct internship courses.
• Trains Career Services Staff to interact with staff, students, and others in a professional manner.
• Trains Career Services staff to assist enrolled students in finding suitable employment while enabling them to “learn while they earn”.

• Tracks the ACICS Placement Rates to ensure the College’s Placement Rates meet or exceed the minimum requirements.
• Arranges job fairs and employer campus visits and resume workshops.
• Demonstrates an understanding of student career foundations, job placement and instructional process
• Establishes and maintains critical networks and communication links between students and the community/employer resources
• Provides leadership in the development of productive and diverse community/employer networks
• Ensures 100% verifications on all placements and waivers entered into CampusVue
• Directs the placement verification process in the ACICS PVP system.
• Manages and completes, with campus support, all CAR and other regulatory placement reporting.

MRA #2. Federal Work Study Programs. Works with the Financial Services Department to set the Federal Work Study budget once Financial Aid receives the allotment amount.


• Works with the campus Leadership Team to finalize the Federal Work Study budget based on needs
• Establishes procedures and systems for potential Federal Work Study students to apply
• Establishes the interview process for Federal Work Study students
• Follows the hiring procedures for Federal Work Study students
A. Community Placement
• Works with the Associate to get Job Description; and then with Financial Aid Department in getting the Job Description approved
• Sends the applicants to the employer for interviews
• Sets up the payment and/or reimbursement procedures with the employer
B. Internal Placement
• Makes sure the Job Description is on file and approval has been received from GLOBAL
• Assigns the Federal Work Study student to qualified position
• Monitors all time sheets by comparing class schedule to the time sheet
• Holds workshops/meetings to review the expectations of the position and ensures professionalism
• Communicates between the Federal Work Study student and/or supervisor on his/her job performance

MRA #3. CampusVUE Maintenance. Maintains database of current student knowledge and events for all Associates utilization in reporting academic reports.

Trains campus Career Service Directors to:

• Creates, maintains and utilizes student data in CampusVUE
• Generates, maintains and uses placement lists in CampusVUE
• Generates letters for current students and graduates in/from CampusVUE
• Maintains information concerning students in the Contact Manager section of CampusVUE.

MRA #4. Student Advising. Provides an open availability for students to resolve concerns.

Trains campus Career Services team to:

• Provides direction to students on job opportunities available in the community
• Arranges mock interviews for graduating students
• Actively addresses students issues of barriers to continue their education
• Actively participates in admissions, retention and academic activities that enhance the students’ success.

MRA #5. Administration. Directs the administration of policies and establishes new procedures and strategies to enhance career services to graduating students.


• Contributes, as a member, to the planning, development, growth and productivity of the Daymar College campus’s Leadership Team
• Establishes and maintains an “openness of operations” and an “esprit de corp” among students, faculty and associates
• Generates statistical data in support of maintaining accrediting, governmental and college reporting requirements
• Oversees established budget guidelines and related business/financial agendas to aid in achieving successful operations
• Creates and places Press Releases such as Congratulations for Graduates and Special Events at least monthly, and preferably weekly.
Requirements The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.

2. Experience: 5-7 years experience as a Career Services Director working with the placement of students in an academic setting. 3-5 years in a regional or corporate role successfully managing the placement effort for a proprietary institution. Demonstrated skills in understanding student career foundations, job placement and the instructional process are critical to the success of this position.

• Excellent customer service skills, telephone, organizational skills and attention to detail.

4. Physical and Mental Requirements:

Physical Requirements: This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.

Mental Requirements: This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information. This job also requires the ability to work under moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Environment: This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and cooled office area/classroom.
