  • Provide technical and mechanical training to all levels of heavy equipment and power train service technicians.
  • Provide basic system and new product introduction training to service technicians, parts counter, sales and support staff.
  • Develop new training class curriculum, agendas, student and instructor materials, and lab exercises for a variety of topics ranging from new product introduction, mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide technical and mechanical training to all levels of heavy equipment and power train service technicians.
  • Provide basic system and new product introduction training to service technicians, parts counter, sales and support staff.
  • Develop new training class curriculum, agendas, student and instructor materials, and lab exercises for a variety of topics ranging from new product introduction, mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

     

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide basic systems training to customers as required and requested.
  • Work with the Training Coordinator to perform administrative functions such as coordinating training schedules, notifying appropriate departments about training schedules, collecting feedback forms, maintaining program records, obtaining training aids.                                     
  • Assist in determining training needs within the company.
  • Oversee the delivery and effectiveness of purchased classes.
  • Attend professional development courses to enhance technical, administrative, and instructional abilities.
  • Support and substitute for others in the Equipment Solutions Department (such as Technical Communicators) who may need assistance from time to time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a professional looking classroom that is always clean, orderly and equipped with appropriate audio/ visual training equipment.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously to both internal colleagues and customers.
  • Communicate effectively an actively seek and provide feedback.
  • Communicate with and coach employees on assignments providing technical expertise as needed.
  • Work varying shifts and overtime as business needs arise.
  • Provide a challenging environment that encourages self-development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety regulations.  Use all safety equipment as necessary.  Report any unsafe acts or conditions.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Instructional design and developmental experience.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret training results.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple classes/assignments in multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers to teach how computers are used for troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
  • Present training that effectively transfers knowledge and tools that improve company and individual performance.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Receives an overall class evaluation rating from participants of above average for all classes conducted during the evaluation period.
  • Skills to develop training classes that include classroom training and interactive participation for a variety of audiences (service technicians, parts counter personnel, sales and support staff).
  • Provides the lowest cost training to the customer with high quality service, to assist the company in achieving its goal of customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participates with and supports the department team.
  • Effectively participates as part of team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.
  • Excellent customer service attitude.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures and practices.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Training, Education, Administration or related field or equivalent in practical experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in training or education.
  • Knowledge in electrical, hydraulic and power train systems at a level appropriate to teach apprentice, mid-level and journeymen service technicians.
  • Excellent teaching techniques that include skills appropriate for interactive classroom, hands-on and in the field training.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient English, grammar, spelling, punctuation and math skills.

  • Must be able to occasionally/frequently bend, squat, and climb; including ability to ascend and descend ladders.
