Capgemini Government Solutions (CGGS) LLC is seeking highly motivated and experienced Big Data Engineers to join our team in the DC Metro Area to support our government clients. The successful applicant will work closely with our clients and will be responsible for designing strategies and programs to collect, store, analyze and visualize data from various sources for multi-tiered data environments.

 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skillset, work with a motivated and entrepreneurial team, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and build CGGS’ capabilities to serve our clients.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

 

As a Big Data Engineer, you will:

 

  • Define Data standards, Data governance and lineage, and Data migration between data base technologies.
  • Define standards for data tagging into a data lake following industry best practices.
  • Define Metadata standards, build data assessment metrics and facilitate data meetings.
  • Guide programs related to data standardization, data stewardship and master data management.
  • Work with large amounts of data facts, figures, and number crunching.
  • Establish Master Data Management and Reference Data repositories.
  • Develop and drive data governance, quality and analytics initiatives to successfully execute and provide appropriate data, information & analysis to various business functions/departments.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and written, to varied levels of the organization including technical personnel, business managers, and senior leadership.

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analysis, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Operation Research, or other physical science/engineering fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Data architecture experience; experience including but not limited to metadata management; reference and master data management; data warehousing and business intelligence management; & document and content management.
  • In Depth experience in established and emerging data technologies.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture.
  • Ability to astutely operate in the organization, able to emphasize methodology, modeling, and governance, technologically and politically neutral, articulate, persuasive, and a good salesperson, and enthusiastic.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data stores.

 

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Experience with large scale big data deployments in Government and large commercial environments.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT best practices in the creation of the database.
