Capgemini Government Solutions (CGGS) LLC is seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Kansas City, MO to support our government clients. The Senior Systems Administrator is a multifaceted role work in collaboration with other teams across the business in geographically disperse areas and roles across a large consulting engagement.  The successful candidate will be responsible for working and overseeing a team of systems administrators, prioritize work, identify high risk critical problems and dedicate appropriate resources to drive value to our clients.   


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skillset in development work with a motivated and entrepreneurial team, engage with stakeholders, and build CGGS’ capabilities in serving our clients.

Job Description

As a Senior Systems Administrator,  you will:


  • Create a plan to assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks. 
  • Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
  • Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with the established IT policies and procedures.
  • Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Plan and implement the modernization of servers.
  • Develop, implement and promote standard operating procedures and schedules.
  • Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures. 
  • Work closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine, develop and implement the new system.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, or an Associates Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of systems administration experience with Bachelors degree or 8  years of equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

  • Systems administration experience within an IT environment for federal government agencies.
  • Experience managing system administrators in an IT environment.
