Description The Military Benefits Specialist (MBS) is part of a helpdesk team that answers inquiries from service members and their families about entitlements earned as a result of military service. Inquiries are to be answered and refer to the Benefits Library at the MyArmyBenefits or MyAirForce Benefits websites. Complex questions that require detailed research will be promptly elevated to a Benefit Subject Matter Expert. The MBS answers calls and emails to the helpdesk, documents the call in a customer relationship management (CRM) program, and provides researched, documented answers to callers and or anyone requesting military benefits questions. Work is performed both remotely and on site at contractor HQ on an alternating basis. MBS duties include, but are not limited to:
• Professionally answers phone calls and emails to the help desk within established timeframes.
• Respond to or initiate Zoom/Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) sessions with clients as warranted.
• Research military regulations and documents to provide a documented response to an inquiry
• Enter call information into a CRM (SalesForce) data base
• Use call routing software to answer calls
Qualifications:
• Minimum HS Education with 3-5 years’ work experience. Preference to military veterans or military spouse.
• Ability to obtain an AFSC military benefits certification
• Ability to professionally communicate in English verbally and in writing. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to research DOD, JFTR, DFAS, HRC, and Army regulations as well as VA websites.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Salesforce experience preferred, but not required.

Requirements Requirements
• Position reports to the Military Benefits Specialist Lead.
• Must meet government security requirements for the SBS Program which will include Magellan and Government background investigations and drug testing.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be able to learn/use Box for document management.
• Regular attendance at monthly Professional Development trainings.
• Routine and proficient use of Zoom and Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) to participate in training and synchronous communications with customers, colleagues and supervisors.

General Office Demands:
• Must accurately record your daily timesheet per AFSC’s Timekeeping Policy
• Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones and related media and information devices on most or all workdays
• Ability to communicate and interact with others, both in person and/or by telephone to conduct business
• Working under time pressure
• Working rapidly for long periods to meet deadlines
• Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.
• Must be able to enter private homes that may or may not provide easy access for those with physical disabilities or those recovering from physical rehabilitation or post-recovery mobility.
• Position requires ability to transport self from office locations to private homes, other offices and facilities where training and other program activities occur.
• Physical requirements can typically be characterized as active: Lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, climbing may be required in the position. Requires lifting or moving various pieces of equipment, maximum 40 lbs. Position may require work on hands and knees to conduct program activities.
