This is a 6-8-month assignment.

We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support the on-boarding process for a 1600-person company based in Arlington (Shirlington), VA.

During this short-term effort, you will be involved with the following:
• Assist employees to follow vendor drug screening and background check processes.
• Update records of current and former employee.
• Enter new hire information into the HRIS and other HR databases.
•Serve as employee advocate in resolving inquiries and escalate as appropriate to HR Specialists to facilitate resolution of more detailed questions and issues
* Respond to employee questions by phone and email.
• Perform administrative tasks for team such a scanning/ mailings/ copying/ filing/ faxing
• Verify credentials, perform reference and background checks.
• Works on special HR projects as needed.

Requirements Minimum qualifications:
This is a 6-8-month assignment.
• BA/BS in HR, Business, or Marketing/Communications or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with tools used within a traditional HR function to include experience working the MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• 1 year Experience working in Human Resources, Marketing or other professional office environment as an Intern or employee.
Responsibilities should demonstrate attention to detail, customer service skills, ability to handle confidential information and interface professionally and clearly communicate with internal external customers in person, by email and over the phone.

General Office Demands:

Must accurately record your daily timesheet per AFSC’s Timekeeping Policy

Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones and related media and information devices on most or all workdays

Ability to communicate and interact with others, both in person and/or by telephone to conduct business

Working under time pressure

Working rapidly for long periods to meet deadlines

Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.

Physical requirements can typically be characterized as active: Lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, climbing may be required in the position. Requires lifting or moving various pieces of equipment, maximum 40 lbs. Position may require work on hands and knees to conduct program activities.
