Description Provide specialized expertise to the National Guard Bureau Office of the Joint Surgeon (NGB-JSG) in the support of the Behavioral Health Policy Program including program analysis and support services for improved program evaluation and effectiveness.

The position will:
• Collect, organize, monitor, analyze and interpret highly specialized population-level data
• Analyze challenges, gaps, inefficiencies, and redundancies and provide recommendations of best practices
• Produce briefings, white papers, and reports for senior-level audiences
• Provide surveillance of data in order to detect variations, inefficiencies, inaccuracies
Requirements The successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in a relevant field plus 3-5 years experience in providing assistance and support to the DoD and/or other federal agency behavioral health.

Overview of requirements:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio, and Project;
• Proficiency in using statistical programs, such as SAS or SPSS, including programming and use of statistical procedures to analyze data;
• Experience in managing complex data from multiple sources, including statistical analysis of longitudinal or repeated measurement data;
• Experience conducting program evaluation activities;
• Experience conducting interviews, administering surveys, conducting focus groups, and collecting data;
• Experience working in public health, military, or research setting.
• Strong writing skills
• Experience drafting health policy guidance memos

Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.

Physical requirements can typically be characterized as medium work: Lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds.
