The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a SharePoint Systems Support Specialist for the Health Research & Education Trust (HRET) located in our Chicago office.

Purpose

The SharePoint System Support Specialist is responsible for providing specialized support to power users and end users. Leverages the SharePoint environment as a powerful business solution for Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET.)  Interacts with HRET and American Hospital Association (AHA) staff to serve as the bridge between project teams and Information Technology (IT) for delivery of SharePoint related technology, develops and implements solutions that significantly improve productivity, and streamlines business processes and cuts costs. 

Essential Functions

  1. Provides specialized support to power users and end users of SharePoint for HRET related projects.
     
  2. Prepares and delivers SharePoint training to SharePoint site owner teams on areas such as: using pre-developed templates, managing site permissions and site developments.
     
  3. Provides advice, recommendations and support for the management of SharePoint sites. Troubleshoots issues and develops solutions.
     
  4. Tracks inquiries, identifies common problems, and assists in the development and distribution of tutorials, handbooks, user guides, or other best practice documentation.
     
  5. Prepares and maintains project plans for all SharePoint related projects across HRET.
     
  6. Monitors and summarizes progress of project utilization of SharePoint which include, but is not limited to: designing spreadsheets and other tools to manage processes and tracks progress against milestones and budget.
     
  7. Facilitates and coordinates meetings and work activities of HRET site owners to ensure satisfactory delivery of assigned projects.
     
  8. Collaborates with internal colleagues and external partners and vendors to ensure for successful project execution.
     
  9. Researches best practices and reviews processes and makes recommendations for process improvements.
     
  10. Ensures compliance and adherence to best practices.
     
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Project Management or related.
     
  • 1-2 years experience with a minimum 2 years of power user experience utilizing a SharePoint platform performing the following functions: developing and supporting sites, managing groups, generating reports, and document management.
     
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with project coordination experience. Knowledge of project management.
     
  • Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of SharePoint collective domain knowledge. Ability to learn new technology. Experience with monitoring and maintenance of SharePoint system and in the use of SharePoint migration tools. Experience creating SharePoint search configuration including scopes, refiners, and pages.
     
  • Technical Requirements: Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills.
     
  • Project scheduling skills; critical thinking skills; attention to detail skills.
  • Abilities Required: Ability to work independently; to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; 
    perform research and identify and seek needed information. Ability to build collaborative relationships and to work as part of a team and communicate regularly with others. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
