Description
Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities associated with commercial manufacturing
• Provide direction to Manufacturing Technicians (regular and temporary)
• Generate and revise SOPs and Production Record Documents
• Initiate and support investigations when deviations occur
• Provide on-the-job and SOP training including facilitating group training; ensure that training is kept updated
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained and initiate and investigate Safety Incident Reports when they occur
• Interact with Maintenance and Facilities to ensure equipment and facilities are calibrated and maintained in good working order and that equipment needing PM is being identified and systematically taken out of service
• Ensure that all pertinent issues are communicated between shifts (as required)
• Work closely with manufacturing engineer to evaluate areas of manufacturing needing improvement
• Support R&D and development activities
• Provide regular manufacturing yield and equipment status report

• Provides leadership and supervision to Manufacturing Technicians
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates good judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to details
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot highly technical and process related issues
• Strong understanding of cGMP, DEA and OSHA regulations
• Able to work flexible hours and capable of independently leading multiple tasks
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in handling drug compounds and organic solvents
• Ensure tasks are performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as detailed by the U.S. and European Regulatory Agencies
• Must work in a clean room environment and conform to gowning and safety requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and tact needed to interact with personnel from a wide range of disciplines and management levels
• Good computer skills, including; MS Word and Excel
• Ability to lift 35-40 lbs. essential

Education Required

• 6+ years experience in the biopharmaceutical or medical device industry
• AA or AS in a Life Sciences or Engineering discipline preferred
